In this book, the term "museum" represents a wide range of informal educational institutions; including art galleries, history museums, natural history museums, zoos, tree gardens, botanical gardens, science centers, historic buildings, and many others Display and collection. These institutions all provide museum experiences that can be coherent with some of the same traits, and different types of audiences understand them with different behavior patterns. These behavioral patterns are affected by many factors, including the frequency of visits by the audience, what expectations they have when they come to the museum, and their personal knowledge background and experience at the time. In order to present a coherent picture brought by this comprehensive museum experience of visitors, we have created a framework to show the common elements of museum experience and its unique complexity, as well as the similarities and differences between museums and each visitor; We call this architecture the Interactive Experience Model. We have found that this model can effectively organize and interpret many studies and information about museum audiences, and it can also be used in psychology, anthropology, and sociology. In this book, we use this interactive experience model to review and explain museum visits and museum experiences.

Due to the diversity of museum types and types of visitors, trying to understand why visitors come to the museum, what they do in the museum, and what they remember after the visit are very important and challenging issues.
