How Do I Prepare for the SAT?

The SAT vocabulary is a general term. It generally refers to the English vocabulary that a standard high school graduate needs to master in order to pass the SAT test. It does not include the general vocabulary commonly used in education and life. Unlike English for the college entrance examination, SAT vocabulary does not have a defined scope and quantity; for Chinese students, a vocabulary of more than 10,000 can be considered to have the basic conditions for taking the SAT;

Impact of SAT reform on SAT vocabulary
On February 26, 2013, David Coleman, president of the College Board, stated in an email to 6,000 employees that the SAT should be reformed, acknowledging that the reason for the reform was the pressure of the ACT test, which exceeded the SAT for the first time this year Examinations. The direction of the reform is likely to be simpler and easier, closer to the Common Core State Standards, and to focus on core set of knowledge and skills. [1]

"SAT Vocabulary" gives not only a range of recitations, but also the most standard recitation methods-roots, affixes, and etymology (see appendix). Roots and affixes are relatively familiar to students. The etymology may be a bit strange. The etymology method is to tell you the origin of a word. Some words have a similar sensation after reading them, but I ca nt say the reason for it. Research, summarize the rules, and make a detailed explanation in the book, turning an unknown word into a recognized word, so that the memory is stronger and the understanding is deeper. I abandoned those so-called homophonic and connected ideas, returned to tradition, looked at vocabulary with a scientific attitude, and liberated students with orthodox thinking.
Finally, I share my personal view of the test with each student: IQ does not test IQ in English test, only practice makes perfect, read it a few times, and it will be; although not everyone can become Hemingway, but master the test skills and methods to test Good results are what we can do.
If you encounter new words in the process of reading the English version, you can first look up the dictionary to understand the approximate meaning of the word, and then consider the context and think about it to lock its precise meaning in the text, and finally find the corresponding position in the Chinese version for verification; if When encountering sentences or even paragraphs that you do not understand, you still have to insist on analyzing the sentence structure yourself, grasping the general attitude of the author in the paragraph and guessing the general idea of the paragraph, and then resort to the Chinese version to find the answer. [3]
Please note: You must study the English version first, and then think, analyze, reason, and then read the Chinese version of the corresponding translation. Do not read the Chinese easily, and do not develop an over-reliance on the Chinese translation. This method can greatly improve the efficiency of reading the original English books without compromising your reading enthusiasm.
In the word review process, everyone can use all possible media for review. For example, you can listen to the words in the CD-ROM attached to the vocabulary book early in the morning and after meals, use better word software on the market (some software includes vocabulary test games), watch (listen to) English programs, and so on. The purpose of this is only one, to a certain extent, increase the interest of vocabulary memory and help everyone better complete the review.
If you can accumulate some vocabulary by yourself and have a solid memory of the SAT vocabulary when preparing for the exam, everyone's preparation for the exam will be much easier. The editor reminds everyone that if the vocabulary memory effect is not good, it will have a lot of impact on the overall preparation for the subsequent exams, so everyone must pay attention to vocabulary memory and preparation.
