What are College Scholarships?

The national scholarship refers to the purpose of encouraging students of ordinary undergraduate colleges, higher vocational schools and technical colleges to study hard and forge ahead in an all-round way in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic aspects. Scholarship [1] , it is a great honor to get a national scholarship as a college student.

National Scholarship

The award standard for the national and specialist national scholarships is 8,000 yuan per person per year.
20,000 yuan for master students and 30,000 yuan for doctoral students each year.

National Scholarship for Junior College Students

May 21, 2002: In order to help ordinary college students with financial difficulties to complete their studies, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education announced in Beijing that China will set up a national scholarship from 2002 and will issue a fixed amount of 45,000 college students nationwide each year. The total scale is 200 million yuan per year. The first selection of national scholarships was held on September 1, 2002.
National scholarships are awarded annually to 45,000 college students nationwide, of which 10,000 are particularly outstanding students at 6,000 yuan per person per year; 35,000 students are 4,000 yuan per person per year. National scholarships are awarded to full-time junior college students in China's colleges and universities, including full-time junior college students who were admitted to ordinary colleges and universities and full-time junior college students. Students can apply individually to their school according to the national scholarship application conditions, and can apply continuously on an annual basis. The recommended number of national scholarships determined by the Ministry of Finance will appropriately favor major colleges and universities, students majoring in agriculture, forestry, nationality, sports, navigation, water conservancy, geology, minerals, petroleum and other majors, accounting for a large proportion of students. On May 19, 2007, the Central Government continued to set up a national scholarship to reward 50,000 particularly outstanding students each year, and the reward standard was increased from 5,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan per person per year.

National Scholarship for Graduate Students

It is understood that the 2010 Outline of the National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020) put forward the requirement to establish a national scholarship for graduate students. Prior to the issuance of this notice, there was no national scholarship for postgraduate education in China's postgraduate education. Master's and doctoral students enjoy national ordinary scholarships.
On October 22, 2012, the Chinese government website issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education on Printing and Distributing the" Interim Measures for the Administration of National Scholarships for Graduate Students "" in order to develop graduate education with Chinese characteristics, promote reform of the graduate education mechanism, and improve the quality of graduate education. Since September 1, 2012, the National Scholarship System for Graduate Students has been implemented, which rewards 45,000 graduate students each year10,000 doctoral students and 35,000 graduate students.
