What Are the Different Types of Accreditation Agencies?
Organizations that have been approved by the State Council s certification and accreditation supervision and management department and have obtained legal personality in accordance with the law and have certain qualifications to engage in certification activities within the scope of approval (according to the People s Republic of China Certification and Accreditation Regulations).
Certification body
- Approved by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the State Council and obtained in accordance with law
- Requirements for the establishment of a certification body:
- Certification bodies are those with reliable enforcement
- Competent authority: The competent authority of the certification body is the National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA)
- Accreditation body: In China, the accreditation body is China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). Only laboratories accredited by CNAS can be accredited by national regulations and mutually recognized by laboratories of various countries.
- International mutual recognition
- China's national accreditation system for conformity assessment plays an important role in international accreditation activities. Its accreditation activities have been integrated into the international accreditation and mutual recognition system, and have played an important role. China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment is a full member of International Accreditation Forum (IAF), International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization (ILAC), Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization (APLAC) and Pacific Accreditation Cooperation Organization (PAC). At present, China has signed mutual recognition agreements with accreditation bodies for quality management system certification and environmental management system certification in 43 other countries and regions, and has signed mutual recognition agreements with 64 laboratory accreditation bodies in other countries and regions. For example, laboratories established in China, such as TUV South Germany, TUV Rheinland, SGS, UL, CSA, ITS, VDE, JQA, NPS, NQA, etc., must obtain the accreditation of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The laboratory should be accredited by CNAS, which is to act in accordance with the international ISO17025 laboratory management system.
