There are several different types of audiovisual (AV) technicians whose specialties generally revolve around sound, video and lighting. These technicians are responsible for designing, installation, maintenance and operation of audiovisual equipment. The world of audiovisual technologies is huge, so AV technicians generally specialize in a specific type of technology. The most common use is the design of audio systems for concert sites, conference rooms and houses of worship. It is the responsibility of the technique to design a sound system that can meet the physical requirements of the venue.
