Type of lesson

Generally speaking, there are three main reasons for classifying courses: [1]
Classroom teaching in primary and secondary schools generally undertakes the following tasks: imparting new knowledge to students, reviewing and consolidating what they have learned; applying the learned knowledge to practical formation skills and techniques; checking the degree of mastery of knowledge, etc. Accordingly, in practice, the basic types of primary and secondary school classes are divided into two categories: single classes and comprehensive classes. [1]
(1) Single lesson. Generally refers to a class that mainly completes one teaching task in one class. A single class can be divided into the following types: Classes that teach new knowledge. In a class, most of the time is used to impart new knowledge to students and organize students to learn new textbooks. The main purpose is to allow students to perceive, understand and master new textbook content and add new knowledge elements. Sometimes there will be review and consolidation content, but it serves the main task of mastering new knowledge.
Review lessons to consolidate knowledge. The time of one lesson is mainly used to review what has been learned. The main purpose is to enable students to deepen their understanding of knowledge, grasp the essence, and network and systemize knowledge to consolidate memory. This is the case for reviewing nakedness after studying a unit or before the mid-term and final exams.
Lessons to develop skills and techniques. Including practice classes, experimental classes, internship classes, etc. The time of this type of class is mainly used to organize students to use the knowledge they have learned for practical operations, repeated practice, and master basic skills to form proficiency skills. Such as Chinese composition lessons, independent assignments in mathematics, science, and chemistry, experimental lessons, and internship classes in biology, etc., all fall into this category.
Lessons to check knowledge and skills, techniques. Use the whole or two consecutive lessons to check the students' mastery of the knowledge and skills they have learned. The purpose is to understand the learning situation, evaluate the performance of each student, and make up for the existing problems. The different forms of quizzes and examinations conducted in the teaching of various disciplines belong to this category.
Self-study class. This is a type of course created in recent years to emphasize the cultivation of students' self-learning ability. Its form is under the guidance of teachers, mainly through students' own reading, thinking and independent work, to actively acquire knowledge and skills.
Due to the concentration of the content of a single lesson, almost the entire time of the lesson is used to complete a single task, and the structure has not changed much, so it is mostly used in senior middle school.
(2) Comprehensive lessons. Also known as mixed lessons, generally refers to a lesson where several teaching tasks are to be completed in one lesson. The content of the comprehensive course includes reviewing the knowledge on the 1st day; learning the content of new teaching materials, consolidating the new teaching materials, and conducting appropriate exercises to cultivate the skills and techniques; and even checking the mastery of the knowledge.
Several tasks to be completed in comprehensive courses are not equally important. Generally, they focus on the transfer of new knowledge, combined with consolidation review and training of skills and skills. Because of the flexible approach of the integrated curriculum and the changeable structure, it is difficult to adapt to the psychological characteristics of children engaged in single activities in a long time: it is generally used in lower grades and primary schools. In this way, multiple activities are carried out in a row, which can stimulate students' learning interest and achieve good results.
According to the division of tasks, courses can be divided into: teaching new knowledge (new teaching), consolidating knowledge (consolidating), developing skills and skills (skills), and checking knowledge (inspection).
According to the teaching method, the lessons are divided into: lectures, demonstrations, exercises, experiments, and review.
