What Are the Different Types of Renewable Energy Degree Programs?

In March 2009, the Chinese government and the European Commission signed the "Financial Agreement for the Establishment of the China-EU Clean and Renewable Energy Academy". In July 2010, Huazhong University of Science and Technology was hosted by the Chinese side, Paris Hi-Tech France as the European coordinator, and 9 universities and 1 European research institution in 6 countries including China, France, and Germany were approved to jointly build the China-Europe Energy Institute. In March 2012, the China Europe Energy Institute was formally approved by the Chinese government. On October 6, 2012, it was officially unveiled in Huake. In order to meet the needs of domestic and international companies to upgrade their professional skills (such as policy makers, engineering and technical personnel) in clean and renewable energy, the Sino-European Clean and Renewable Energy Academy has developed vocational training programs ^[8]

The research platform of the Sino-European School of Clean and Renewable Energy mainly conducts the activities of exchange-doctoral training of Sino-European cooperative universities and adopts a dual-tutor system. As a Sino-European joint academic research institution, the research platform also organizes exchanges and cooperation between European teachers and Chinese teachers, with the aim of promoting Sino-European cooperation and developing research projects. The platform also regularly organizes top experts in the field of clean and renewable energy to hold academic lectures at CEIBS.

On October 6, 2012 ^[12] , after more than two years of preparations and pre-construction work, the Sino-European School of Clean and Renewable Energy (referred to as the Sino-European Energy Institute) jointly established by 10 universities and research institutions in China-Europe was officially launched at Huazhong University of Science and Technology Unveiled. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, the European Union Mission in China, the French Consulate in China, and the China-EU Cooperation University attended the unveiling ceremony. Gao Youhan, Minister of the European Union Mission in China, Lambeau, Consul General of the French Consulate in Wuhan, and Roman Suberon, President of Paris Hi-Tech Group National Paris Mining University, delivered speeches respectively.

Mr. Gao Youhan introduced that the China-Europe Energy Institute is one of the important contents of the Sino-European higher education cooperation platform for the follow-up plan of the Sino-European People-to-People Exchange and Dialogue mechanism. Another important cooperation project in this field. Today, as the world pays attention to climate change, energy, the environment, food and sustainable development, this cooperation is of great significance to China, Europe and the world.

Academician Li Peigen, President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, said that CEIBS will train CEIBS dual-degree masters in solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, and energy efficiency, conduct high-end vocational training, and promote clean and renewable energy engineering education in China Level, and establish a cooperative research platform, carry out cooperative research and joint training of doctoral students. The academy will closely grasp the opportunities and trends of the new energy technology revolution and build the academy into a clean and renewable energy school with international influence through China-EU cooperation efforts.
