What Does a Measurement Technician Do?
Engineering surveyor means a surveying professional who is engaged in engineering surveying and management. Responsible for the measurement of the project from the start, construction, and operation stages.
Engineering Surveyor
- A project starts, and engineering surveys go first. Engineering surveyors must select control points and buried rocks in engineering surveys, carry out engineering construction and set out, industrial and civil
- Selection of survey and control points and buried rocks in engineering surveys;
- Measure and calculate the control point data in accordance with the specified accuracy level;
- Observe and record in special surveys such as engineering stakeout, building construction survey, linear engineering survey, bridge engineering survey, underground engineering construction survey, hydraulic engineering survey, geological survey, seismic survey, underground mine survey, and building deformation survey. Books, and engineering topographic maps;
- To organize and estimate the data of field observation results, or to draw the topographic map of the field into the original topographic map;
- Check the measurement results data, provide measurement data and measurement charts
- Education and training: Engineering surveying, surveying and mapping engineering and other surveying and mapping majors with college degree or above. Surveying and mapping industry junior, intermediate, senior surveyor and technician / senior technician certificate.
- Usually non-majoring in surveying and mapping (majors in surveying and mapping) such as: workers, civil construction, roads, bridges, etc. are all called: surveying lineman certificate or engineering surveyor, surveying and mapping engineer certificate obtained by some provincial training institutions . However, these certificates are completely different in nature from engineering surveyor certificates issued by the National Surveying and Mapping Vocational Skills Appraisal Center, and can be said to be non-professional surveying and mapping skills appraisal certificates.
- The only issuing agency of the engineering surveyor's certificate is: the Vocational Skills Identification Guidance Center of the National Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information. This certificate is uniformly issued by the Beijing National Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center. There are only vocational skill appraisal stations and no certificate issuing agency in each province.
- Work experience: Familiar with total station, level, theodolite and other measuring instruments for engineering surveying and mapping work;
- Understand the layout, measurement and calculation of horizontal control network and elevation control network (leveling network);
- Familiar with AUTOCAD, CASS, MAPGIS and other softwares to process surveying data in-house drawing and using Nanfangyi and other softwares for in-house data processing;
- Need to adapt to field surveys.
- Depending on the area of focus of the applicant, engineering surveyors employed by the government will be assigned to work in municipal engineering, water conservancy, land and resources survey, civil engineering, construction or housing. In addition, many surveyors also work in the private sector, and their work includes surveying and mapping product marketing, real estate surveying and mapping. The government and private sector's upcoming projects to vigorously develop infrastructure construction will keep the construction industry's demand for various surveyors continuing to grow.
