What is a diploma?

The diploma is a Greek word that translates like composed paper . The term usually applies to the certificate that people receive when they complete their studies at high school, college, business or professional schools or the like. It is a bit ironic that the word is currently used because diplomas are rarely composed and are either transmitted or by post graduation to students in straight form.

Not all countries use this term or use it more limited fashion than the United States. The US tends to use this term to mark the successful completion of the study program and refer to the document received at the formal ceremony or after the festive celebration of the study. In general, high school students, business school students, people who receive associated artistic or associated sciences, and people who receive bachelor, master and higher titles receive diplomas in the US. Canada, on the other hand, tends to use a diploma to reference to completing studies on highSchools specializing in art and technology. In the UK and Australia, the diploma can specifically apply to the level of completed studies, while the document you receive for graduation can be called an assessment.

Many people ask if they have to maintain their diplomas to prove that they have completed a particular school or program. In fact, it is quite easy to pretend, so it is generally more useful to keep a copy of certified transcripts from your school. It is not a bad idea to hang on diplomas and are often suitably decorative and very nice for framing. Many people, especially with advanced titles, keep in their office what is called the "vanity of the walls", where they frame and display each diploma and certification document to prove competences to clients. High school diplomas are usually not displayed but are often attractive and represent a significant Ant ScholasTical work.

When you graduate, and if you have a very small school, you are unlikely to introduce a real diploma at the ceremony. They are usually sent for several weeks after you have completed the study program. Usually it is too confusing to try to keep the names of students in order during great graduation. Sometimes students who do not meet all the requirements for graduation receive a document similar to a diploma called the completion certificate, and at other times some programs offer only a completion certificate and do not offer a real graduation or title.
