Its acquisition is divided into two ways [1]
The state implements a physician registration system. After registering and obtaining the "Practice Certificate of Physician" uniformly printed by the Ministry of Health, a TCM physician may engage in the corresponding medical and health care activities according to the registered practice location, practice category, and scope of practice.
(I) Registration conditions
Anyone who has obtained the qualification of a TCM physician may apply for registration as a TCM physician. Those who have not obtained a practice certificate without registration cannot engage in medical activities.
(II) Competent authority
The Ministry of Health is responsible for the supervision and management of the practice registration of physicians nationwide. The local health and TCM administrative departments above the county level are the competent authorities for the registration of practitioners of TCM physicians, and are responsible for the supervision and management of the practice registration of physicians in their respective administrative areas.
(3) Registration procedures
Intend to practise in medical and health care institutions
A TCM physician who intends to practise in a medical or health care institution must apply for registration with the health and traditional Chinese medicine administrative department that approved the practice. Those who have not registered within two years after obtaining the qualification of a TCM physician must also submit an institution with provincial-level health and traditional Chinese medicine administrative departments to receive 3 to 6 months of training and a certificate of passing the assessment.
Those who do not have full capacity for civil conduct and are subject to criminal penalties shall not be registered if their health status is unsuitable or they are not qualified for medical or health care work for less than two years from the date of execution of the penalty to the date of application for registration.
Physicians who have suspended their doctor's practice for more than two years, and those who have disappeared from registration should apply for re-registration. Re-registration needs to go to the agency or organization designated by the administrative department of health and Chinese medicine above the county level, receive 3 to 6 months of training, and pass the assessment.
