What is a physicist?
Physicist is someone who studies or completes physics research. There are many subset of physics, from very small physics particles to very large cosmology or study of the universe. A number of physical courses and large companies are available. These courses are available at university, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
To become a physicist, three items are needed: post -secondary education, postgraduate study and work experience as a physicist. The scope of education and experience you need depends on your career plans and journey. Physical courses at high school level focus on the basic learning of complex concepts such as movement, light, sound and waves. It is not uncommon for the physicist to discover their interest in this area only at the university.
At the university level, the courses emphasize the discoveries and knowledge gained from the great thinkers in science. There are a large number of research projects and opportunities in physics. Physical programs provide a rare opportunity for university students to complete unique research and have their work published in academic magazines. The vast majority of fields do not provide this opportunity to the doctoral degree. Physicists usually find a job in one of three different sectors: government agencies, private companies and universities. In these three sectors, the work is divided between product research and development.
government agencies offer many opportunities to work on applicationor existing technologies and research projects. Jobs within the department and defense departments are well paid and provide the opportunity to combine research and development in a number of areas. The possibilities of physical location are somewhat limited because these positions are usually on university or research cities.
The private sector employs physics in companies and production of utilities. The possibilities of practicing physics in the private sector are somewhat limited due to the cost of equipment needed for long -term research projects. Many people with physics training, however, go to career in law, medicine and computer science.
