- Since its introduction in the United States in 1977, this series of books has been loved by architects, teachers and students of architecture schools for its novel designs, distinctive themes, and sophisticated layouts. At present, Princeton Architectural Publishing House has published 26 booklets, and it is still being enriched, and it continuously includes the latest design concepts and physical projects. - The "House Design Code" (GB50096-2011), which came into effect on August 1, 2012, provides basic requirements for housing design, as follows:
- 3 Basic requirements
- 3.0.1 The design of housing shall meet the requirements of urban planning and residential area planning, and economic, reasonable and effective use of land and space.
- 3.0.2 The residential design should make the building coordinate with the surrounding environment, and create a convenient, comfortable and beautiful living space.
- 3.0.3 The residential design should be people-oriented. In addition to meeting the requirements for general residential use, it should also meet the use requirements of special groups such as the elderly and the disabled according to needs.
- 3.0.4 The residential design shall meet the requirements of sunlight, natural lighting, ventilation and sound insulation required by the occupants.
- 3.0.5 Residential design must meet energy-saving requirements, and residential buildings should be able to use energy reasonably. It is advisable to use a combination of conventional energy sources and renewable energy sources in combination with local energy conditions.
- 3.0.6 Housing design should promote standardization, modularization and diversification, actively adopt new technologies, new materials and new products, and actively promote industrialized design, construction technology and modular application technology.
- 3.0.7 The structural design of the dwelling shall meet the requirements of safety, applicability and durability.
- 3.0.8 The residential design shall meet the requirements of relevant fire protection codes and shall meet the requirements of safe evacuation.
- 3.0.9 The residential design should meet the basic requirements of effective equipment system function, safe operation, and convenient maintenance. A reasonable installation position should be reserved for related equipment.
- 3.0.10 The residential design should meet the requirements of near-term use while taking into account the possibility of future transformation.
