The inclusion of those professionals into the category of professional and technical personnel marks the formal establishment of a professional evaluation system for social workers in China. Social worker vocational level examination has become the main way to evaluate the professional level of social workers and the main means for social workers to obtain corresponding professional qualifications and levels. On the one hand, the professional level examination of social workers has played the functions of selection, grading, protection and promotion, providing effective ways and broad space for the majority of social workers to pursue progress, realize value, and career development. On the other hand, social workers who have obtained the "Professional Level Certificate of Social Workers" through examinations have become an important part of China's professional and technical personnel system. Their professional behavior is standardized, professional status, wages and salaries are more clear, and their legal rights and interests are effectively protected. .

China's social work practitioners are widely distributed in the fields of social welfare, social assistance, disaster reduction and relief, philanthropy, rehabilitation of the disabled, marriage and family, and public health, school education, employment services, judicial corrections, and youth affairs. Registration requirements for assistant social worker exam:

The social work teacher's examination results are implemented in a rolling management method of two years as a cycle. Those who take the examination should pass the examinations of all subjects within two consecutive examination years.

The "People's Republic of China Social Worker Occupational Level Certificate", which is uniformly printed by the Ministry of Personnel and jointly printed by the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, is valid nationwide.
