What is the SAT exam?
SAT The test is a standardized test used in the United States for admission to college. It was originally developed by an educational test service (ETS), a non -profit organization. Currently, the ETS test is still undergoing, but the SAT test is published and another non -profit organization - by the University Council - is owned. SAT was originally an abbreviation for Scholastic Aptitude test, later revised for a scholastic evaluation test, but today is the official name of the SAT test. Historically, the Act was more popular on the Midwest and South, while the SAT test is more popular on the eastern and west coasts, but SAT is now accepted as a national standard. Some schools consider SAT optional for acceptance.
The SAT test consists of three sections, critical reading, mathematics and writing, each evaluated on a scale of 200 to 800, with a maximum possible score of 2400. The SAT test has a total of three hours and 45 minutes of timed test materials. In addition to the three main sections includes SAT 25A minute experimental section used to normalize questions for future tests and which does not contribute to the test score. With the orientation, completion of biographical sections and timed breaks, most of the test administration takes about four and a half hours.
TheCritical Reading Section of the SAT exam has two 25 -minute sections and one 20 -minute section, all consisting of completion of the sentence and questions of reading comprehension in multiple selections format. The mathematics section also consists of two 25 -minute sections and one 20 -minute section. All questions are a multiple choice, with the exception of ten "grid-in" questions in which the test manufacturer must write an answer in one of the 25-minute sections. In the part of the critical reading of the exam, even in a part of mathematics, each section is more difficult at the end of each section.
SEP Writing Section has been added to the test in March 2005. It is divided into two sections: a 25 -minute essay section and a 35 -minute section for multiple selection of the ability to improve sentences and paragraphs and identify grammar errors. In the essay section, the test manufacturer must write a short essay in response to the challenge provided. The essay is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 6, although outside the essay, they receive zero scores and essays are calculated for 30% of the total writing score.
