What are the different stages of testicular cancer?
There are three stages of testicular cancer that doctors use to determine the severity of cancer progress. The testicular phases and testicular cancer are only in the patient's testicles. In phase II, cancer moved to the male reproductive system to the lymph nodes of the abdomen. Phase III means that the malignancy of the testicular cancer has spread far beyond the lymph nodes of the abdomen and metastasized to organs up to the liver or lungs. Each of the three stages of testicular cancer can also be divided into three sub -stages of malignancy.
Stage Ia means that cancer is found in the testes and a twisted tube called epididymis, extending only to the inner membrane surrounding the testicles. At the IB stages of the testicular stages, the testicles has spread to a certain part of the genital area, such as the blood vessels of the testicles, the outer membrane or the lymphatic vessels or even the scrotum or the sperm cord. Stage IC means that the carcinoma has spread to anywhere in Shotum, testicles or sperm cord and tumor levels are increased.
Stage IIA is found in five lymph nodes of the abdomen, no larger than 0.8 inches (2 cm). Stage IIB means that at least one node is greater than 0.8 inches (2 cm), but none is more than 2 inches (about 5 cm), or that it has spread to more than five lymph nodes and no more than 2 inches (about 5 cm). If the carcinoma has spread to the lymph node in the abdomen, which is greater than 2 inches (about 5 cm), then it is considered to be a phase of IIC stages of testicular cancer.
Stage IIIA means that cancer is found in the lymph nodes of lungs or distant lymph nodes and tumor markers are normal up to normal. In stage IIIB, cancer has spread to the lungs or distant lymph nodes and tumor markers are somewhat increased. Phase IIIC means that cancer has a shrade and tumor markers are high. This phase, the most serious of the testes cancer, can be reserved for cases whereCancer has spread to other parts of the body, not just to the lungs.
