What are the different types of mental illnesses?

There are many types of mental diseases such as psychotic disorders that are often incurable. Some people have mood disorders that affect how they feel. Then there are types of mental diseases such as personality disorders and dissociative disorders that are characterized by the inability to deal with people. In addition, it may be surprising to know that eating disorders are also considered a form of mental illness.

Schizophrenia is a condition that the general public can believe that it is slightly familiar with publicity from the media and film industry. This condition belongs to a group known as psychotic disorders. National health institutions (NIH) describe psychotic diseases as serious mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and perception. People suffering from these conditions can be deceptive and experience hallucinations. These types of mental diseases are often considered incurable.

Dissociative disorders, although generally considered to be different from personality disorders, are conditions that and relationships and social interaction. Suffering often lose contact with real estateu. Symptoms may include depersonalization, amnesia and unrealistic perception of personal identity. A positive aspect of these conditions is that the suffering are commonly capable of proper treatment, develop healthy habits that allow them to lead seemingly normal lives.

These conditions are not historically and still do not have to be accepted as widely as some other mental conditions, but the increasing amount of research shows that these disorders have complicated psychological causes. Although medical care is usually necessary, complete treatment is assumed without care for mental health.
