What is a luxury patella?

luxury patella is a type of knee injury common in humans and dogs. Patella, more commonly known as Kneecap, is dislocated or otherwise moves from its normal position inside the joint, leading to pain, immobilization and other harmful conditions. Injuries due to blunt trauma is one of the more common causes of luxury patella, but this condition can also be congenital and persists with a growing person or animal. Surgery may be necessary to treat this condition, even if the doctor will have to perform a thorough examination to make a proper diagnosis. The first treatment that should try when a luxury patella is the treatment of rice. Rice is worth rest, ice, compression and height. These actions will help reduce swelling and pain while stimulating blood flow and supplying oxygen to the injury.
