Alcohol is often considered one of the main contributors to irrational and violet actions on the plane. The pressure on the aircraft is usually equivalent to a height of about 7,000 feet (over 2 km), so feelings of lightheadedness or slight intoxication can only be made by this changed pressure. When jE Alcoholic inbriation combined with this, one can start acting in a way that differs significantly from how otherwise it can behave.
Air rage can also be caused by hypoxia or lack of oxygen into the brain. This may be due to the pressure change and also the reduced oxygen level present in the aircraft cab due to the use of recycled air. Passengers on the aircraft can also be prone to irritation and rage due to frustration of cramped conditions or time spent waiting for canceled or delayed flights.
