What Is an Eye Muscle Twitch?

Ocular muscles include muscles that move the eyeballs and eyelids. Extraocular muscles include six muscles that move the eyeballs and one muscle that raises the eyelids. They are all skeletal muscles, collectively referred to as the sight device. Normal eye movements are the result of the synergy of several muscles. For example, when the pupil is upward, the upper rectus muscle and the lower oblique muscle are contracted together. Strabismus occurs when a muscle in a moving eyeball becomes paralyzed.

Eye muscle definition

Ocular muscle spasm refers to the involuntary twitching of the muscles around the eye, which is what we usually call eyelid jumping.
Eyelid jumping is, in most cases, due to excessive eye strain or exertion, and excessive mental stress. Such as operating a computer for too long, using eyes for too long, too much mental stress before the test. In addition, eye refractive errors, myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism can also be caused. These symptoms are mainly manifestations of nerve ending stimulation, so the symptoms are often limited to the upper or lower eyelid on one side. Recovery can be achieved by relieving stress and taking appropriate rest. The vast majority of people are limited to the upper eyelid or lower eyelid pulsation, and a few people will gradually increase the eyelid pulsation, from the simple upper eyelid or lower eyelid jump to the upper and lower eyelid twitch, or even the same side muscle involuntary twitch.

Eye muscle treatment

First do eye movements, and watch your eyes diagonally upwards, downwards left, upwards left, and downwards right. Then rotate the eyeballs clockwise and counterclockwise. After doing eye movements, press your finger over the fish waist (at the midpoint of your eyebrows) with your fingers. When you feel sore and not painful, do it for 10-15 seconds. Then click on the temple in the same way (1 inch behind the midpoint of the line between the eyebrow tip and the outer corner of the eye), and press for 10-20 seconds.
