What is Hesi?
The Hexi area refers to Jiuquan, Zhangye, Wuwei and other places in Gansu today. Because it is located to the west of the Yellow River, it has been called Hexi since ancient times. Its slope is between Qilian Mountain and the northern mountain system. It is only a few miles to a hundred or two hundred miles long and more than 2,000 miles long. It forms a narrow natural corridor, also known as the Hexi Corridor, which is the main throat of the Central Plains to the Western Region. Hexi is located in the arid region of the northwest, and the Shiyang River, the weak water, and the Shule River are distributed with large alluvial plains. The soil is fertile, the water and grass are rich, and it should be suitable for agriculture and pasture. The Qilian Mountains are covered with snow all year round, melting in spring and summer, and irrigated, which is particularly suitable for the development of "oasis agriculture". Historically, it is an agricultural area famous for Yin Fu [1] . In addition, in the pre-Qin history, the area west of the Yellow River Yuncheng section and east of Huangshui was the throat of the Guanzhong Plain and Hedong area.
