What is a slightly differentiated adenocarcinoma?
Slightly differentiated adenocarcinoma consists of cells that are largely similar to normal healthy cells. These cells have some malformations in their components and can be divided at increased speed, but are not considered as aggressive as cells that are poorly differentiated. The prognosis of cancer with slightly differentiated cells depends on a number of factors, such as an organ or a system affected by cancer, tumor size, and cancer, but generally is better than a prognosis that has poorly differentiated cancer cells. Once a small part of the tumor is extracted, the specialist examines the sample under the microscope. If the cells are slightly differentiated, they will seem relatively normal compared to other cells from the same organ.
