- Leiomyosarcoma can occur in the jejunum, ileum, duodenum, and also in the large intestine. Tumors can protrude outside the intestinal wall or grow into the intestinal lumen, ranging in size, soft, and often accompanied by necrosis. Microscopic diagnosis is based on the following points: more than 5 nuclear divisions are seen in every 10 high-power microscope fields; abnormal cells; cell necrosis. If there are less than 5 mitosis and the latter two are present, it is sufficient to diagnose malignancy [1] .
