- adsl router is a kind of router, set
- Unlike ordinary routers, the signal source of the ADSL router is connected to the Line interface through the RJ-11 connector, so most ADSL routers do not have a WAN interface (see the figure on the right). There is also an enhanced product signal source connected through an RJ-11 connector, with 1 WAN interface and 3 Line interfaces. (Eg: TP-LINK TD-W89841N )
- Use ADSL wireless router as LAN AP
- ADSL wireless routers only have a Line interface as a signal source. If there is a local area network in the home or community, can I use an ADSL wireless router as a wireless AP? Generally speaking, it is possible. The basic method is to disable the DHCP service function of the ADSL router.
- Taking ALCTEL's wireless routing as an example, if we connect the signal line to the physical interface 1 (Ethernet1) of the ADSL wireless router:
- 1. Select Ethernet1 of the group in the LAN configuration and configure it.
- 2. Select Obtain an IP address automatically and select "Disable DHCP service".
- 3. Save the settings and restart the router.
