What Is a Deep Packet Inspection?

Deep packet inspection technology, or DPI technology, is an application-layer-based flow detection and control technology. When IP data packets, TCP, or UDP data streams pass through a DPI-based bandwidth management system, the system reads the IP packet payload in-depth. Content to reorganize the application layer information in the OSI seven-layer protocol to obtain the content of the entire application, and then perform traffic shaping operations according to the system-defined management policy.
