HDMI and REG motherboards can be found on desktop and notebook computers and many monitors and televisions are equipped with one or more HDMI & REG ports. This is especially true for laptops with a budget in which concerns about space and prices can lead to the use of integrated graphics. The motherboard with integrated graphics is simply a motherboard that has a built -in graphics card on it, and therefore has a port of HDMI & REG, Port VGA or both.

This can allow the use of one display with many different video sources, including a computer equipped with HDMI and Reg. HDMI & REG is fully backward compatible with two of the three types of digital video interface (DVI). This means that a computer with HDMI and REG and adapter and adapter can connect to the port of the DVI display that lacks HDMI & REG ports. While DVI does not support the audio input, the use of the HDMI and Reg-to-DVI adapter will not result in a video quality loss.

If the computer has a reserved graphics card, the HDMI and REG motherboard is not necessary. When the system is built with the HDMI motherboard and regimen with a reserved graphics card, the HDMI & REG port on the motherboard simply stops working. The HDMI and Reg graphics card can provide the same useful functionality of the HDMI & Reg motherboard and is also able to run more graphically intensive programs and games.
