What Is a Network Management Group?

Groups are a form of security management that Windows Server 2003 inherits from Windows 2000 Server. We can think of groups as a class, and users are students in the class. Groups are objects in the local computer or Active Directory, including users, contacts, computers, and other groups. In Windows Server 2003, users and computers' access to shared resources is managed through groups.
