What is pinge sweeping?
Ping Sweep, also called Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP), is a diagnostic technique used in computer technology to determine what range of Internet protocol address (IP) are used by live hosts that are usually computers. Usually it is used to do not active machines on the network, and is sometimes used by the system manager to diagnose network problems. Ping is also used by computer hackers, those who try to penetrate the net to see what computers are active, so they know where to concentrate their attacks.
The word ping came from sonar technology. It is a common way in which submarines work to detect bodies in the water. The sound packet is sent and if there is an object in the way, the sound packet will return and is usually picked up as a "pinging" sound when accepted. The packet is sent to a specific IP address and if this address is active, it sends a Bazing of TA. Ping requests also offer more information, such as how long the signall lasted to go back, and if the packets were lost. A number of commands that can be added to the ping application, so it can also send a lot more information.
More ICMP Echo packets are sent to more hosts while sweeping ping. If the host is active, the ICMP Echo request will return. The application is slightly more complicated than one ping and usually a specialized version of the Ping tool is usually used. One of the most famous companies Ping Sweep Utilities is called FPING. It works differently than a single Ping tool, such as the one that is built into all Windows® operating systems.
Unlike a single Ping request, FPING can use a list of addresses from the file so the user does not have to manually enter into each address. It also works within Robina and as soon as the host is lost, it moves to another without waiting. Unlike the Single Ping Request program, FPP in the script is used for easy use.
Unfortunately, most of those who use sweeping ping are hackers. They use it to check large networks to know where to focus their efforts. Hackers can also slow down the network traffic if constantly pinging addresses. Many network systems have ways to block this type of operation, but the easiest way is to deactivate ICMP packets. If the system manager must sweep the ping, ICMP packets could simply temporarily re -enable. Sweeps ping is considered older and slower technology and are not used as in the past.
