What is the pingback?

pingback is one of three types of links. Linkback is the way the author of the blog can apply for notifications when someone else refers directly with his blog post or to the document. Various different blogging software offers an automatic pingback when a web author sets his own place in the blogosphere.

Linkbacks generally began when people felt there was no authority in commenting on blogs. After all, anyone could use a fake name. Similarly, they could publish anything without verification in terms of claims, who they are. This leads to the development of backward tracking that allows notifications without an explicit web address or a uniform resource locator (URL).

With the pingback, the authors of the site noticed backing problems. To give these problems, pingbacks differ drastically from their counterpart. To begin with, Pingback Technology and HTTP-POST tracking software uses. In addition, pingbacks do not send the content.

Pingback can be considered a remote comment. The web author can publish a blog post and another blog owner can write a blog post on which he refers to the original post. If both blogs use pingbacks, it will challenge the second blog to announce the first link owner. This will invite for the first blog that automatically visits the second post, verify that the link is there, and then publishes a comment on the original blog, which shows that it has been mentioned elsewhere.

This comment on the first blog is simply a reference to the second blog, so viewers can verify where the blog is connected. Using this method any editorial check over the blog posts is only on the author of the post. If the author used Trackback, a person who received backward tracking could freely adjust the content of the excerpt published in the comment. Pingbacks offer some level of authority because it requires bloggingon the second person's contribution.

There is some debate in the blogosphere about which reference method is better than the other. Some people feel that the use of backward tracking is better because it prints an excerpt from the post and allows viewers to read it and decide whether they want to read further. Another feeling that pingback is better because it requires verification of handover, which proves that there is a real connection between these two posts.
