What is the ribbon?
As well as a piece of ribbon, the ribbon is a cable type that is wide and flat. The cable is made up of a series of wires that run along each other in parallel. Most belts cables are located on the inside of the electronics. It is also called a multivial flat cable.
In the belt cable, each wire - or conductor - is used in the cable to connect two corresponding contacts. It is therefore very important that the correct conductor is connected to each end. Manufacturers have introduced a color coding system to simplify this process and help prevent interconnecting incorrect contacts. Most cables have a red band at one end. In a different type of belt cable, each wire is colored differently to be easily identified; This type of cable is sometimes known as the "hippie cable". In most common size of the belt cable, the wires are usually 0.05 inches (1.27 mm) apart; This allows a connector with two rows and 0.1 inches (2.54 mm) pitch pitch. This tape formation is most often used for closed spaces. CablesRibbons can have up to four connectors or up to 80.
Theribbon cables are forced to a series of contacts in electronics via the ends of the cables. Connectors at the end of the belt cable are known as insulation shift connectors. On most cables there is an insulation shift at both ends.
There are five basic connectors that are used in most electronics. The BT224 is the most common and is usually used in computers. The PCB transition headings have the same settings as BT224, but include the second line, while the BT224 has only one. D-connectors are found on the printer ports; While most European computers and printers have fled the DIN41612.
Ribbon cables are found in many different electronics, including computer hard drives, floppy disk units and CD players. Older computers often used this type of cableson the outside of the machine. Due to the unpleasant shape of most ribbons cables, round cables largely replaced external ribbons cables.
