What is a Smart Battery Workshop?
On September 9, 2012, the "Symposium on Electric Vehicle Charging and Discharging Technology" of the Nineteenth Session of the Fourteenth China Association for Science and Technology was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. Chen Feng, executive vice chairman of China Electrical Engineering Society and assistant general manager of State Grid Corporation; Zhou Xiaoxin, honorary president of China Electric Power Research Institute; and Kong Qingjun, secretary of the party group and deputy general manager of Hebei Electric Power Company, attended the meeting. The conference was chaired by Li Ruomei, the secretary general of the Chinese Electrical Engineering Society. Nearly 140 experts and scholars from governments, enterprises and research institutes across the country attended the meeting. At the meeting, Chen Feng delivered an opening speech. He said that China has entered a new stage of development and the automobile industry has become a major pillar industry for economic growth. However, the development of the automobile industry and the sharp increase in the total number of automobiles have also caused a series of social problems such as environmental pollution and excessive development and utilization of energy. The contradiction between coordinated economic and social development has become increasingly prominent. The development of the electric vehicle industry is imperative, which can effectively alleviate this prominent contradiction.
