What is a virtualization manager?

Also known as a virtual machine monitor (VMM), the virtualization manager is a type of software that allows several operating systems to run on one host computer. It is installed directly on the host computer and controls hardware, except for visiting operating systems. The virtualizatone manager represents the most common implementation of virtual computer architectures. In fact, CP/CMS®, the first virtual manager, the operating system for sharing time (OS) developed at the age of 60, and is considered to be the predecessor of the product Z/VM & REG OS. This level of separation allows it to check how the amount of operating systems in the virtual environment uses hardware. These sources include memory, CPU and network interface cards (NICS). Therefore, virtualization manager is often said to provide a uniform view of basic hardware.

There are basically two types of virtualization managers. The first described above is often referred to as bareMetal architecture . Type two is known as hosted architecture . This differs from bare metal in that it runs in the operating system, while the visiting system runs over the third level hardware. Some of the most popular examples of this software are VMware Server ™ and Open-source Linux KVM.

During the virtualization process, the virtualization manager of the OS and its application is placed in an isolated environment so that it can be transferred and managed separately. This allows the software to map and remove virtual machines to available sources at any time, or even migrate them on multiple servers. It can also help in balance of loads across the grouprierver; scaling nets to higher capacities; and solve hardware failure. For example, if one server fails and the new one replaces its place, the virtualization manager can remit the associated virtual machines corresponding to the way. These skills allow him to deliver optimalPerformance while improving availability and security.

Interesting interest in the segment of the high -end server hardware has led to the development of Virtualization Manager solutions designed for X86 machines. The X86 represents the family of architectures of teaching based on microprocessors designed by Intel & Reg. It is the same architecture as in most personal computers (PCS) and an element that led to the development of desktop virtualization. VMware® is known as one of the first suppliers to present software capable of virtualizing home desktop computer.

The virtualization administrator is the main part of virtualization technology. It is a that that makes it easier to divide physical hardware and manage virtual machines. Virtualization managers are distributed by a number of suppliers, while Microsoft®, Oracle® and VMware® are among the most popular.
