What is Abend?

Abend, often capitalized as Abend, is short for an unusual end and is a computer term used with a reference to the unusual end of the task when starting the software program. It is more often called crash or locking and usually causes the computer to not respond. The term Abend was originally used as an error message on Mainframe IBM computers with 360 (OS) operating system, developed at the age of 60. Personal computers and recently developed operating systems do not normally use this term, but the Novell NetWork OS still uses it with reference to software accidents and errors. This type of abnormal ending when the program starts usually indicates the problem with software rather than hardware, and usually means that in the application software or operating system it is a mistake that it is a mistake or in the operating system. For Example, the software is terminating if the instructions in the software program point to the area of memory that the computer does not have access. The result is Abend and the computer then locks, also calledá free of freezing or hanging. To become functional, the computer must usually be restarted, which means that it must be turned off again and forth.

Newer operating systems are often more resistant to an accident than older. In the case of a software problem, newer systems are often able to terminate only a wrong application, while other applications will leave. This allows you to recover from Abend in the software program without having to restart your computer. Hardware problems are usually not the cause of Abends, and instead usually causes a computer off or makes it impossible to turn on the computer. Some hardware problems, such as physical computer memory problems, can imitate the effects of an abnormal end of the task.

IBM 360 OS, where it came from the concept of Abend, was written in the Assembly language and was used primarily from 1965 to 1972. This operating system was developed for computers with Mainframe, which is knownExtensive and often room computers, which were mostly used to process data by large companies and organizations. Today, the term Abend is mostly used by computer hackers and computer programmers. It also uses IT professionals and other users of the Novell Netware operating system.
