What is the bus?

Address bus is a computer bus that is used to solve the main system memory. In many built -in controllers and some older computers, the processor's add -up is directly connected to the memory chips. Most motherboards and servers include an address bus in a memory bus between a memory controller and a system memory. The address bus is used by a processor to indicate the location of memory on which it is about to read data from data or data writing. Some processors can also use it to indicate an input/output port that is about to read or write. Many peripheral drivers can share a system memory with a processor using a technique called Direct Memory Access (DMA). A network, hard drive or graphic controller can be a DMA -supporting device. This allows the controller to transfer data to and from the system faster than sent by processor one piece at a time.

without a heardDu on whether the physical address comes from the DMA processor or device is detained on the address bus. This action points out the memory that this memory address is to be made for reading or writing. If the registration operation is waiting, the data to be registered is detained to the data bus and starts the memory signal. Reading operation can be performed by running a memory reading signal and reading a data bus.

Most servers and desktops most personal computers (PC) use the memory controller that is separated from the main processor. This controller communicates with the main memory of the system through the memory bus. This bus includes an address bus, a data bus and many control signals. The memory controller is located on the Northbridge and the main processor interface using the front of the bus (FSB).

RTHBRIDGE and FSB memory can create a narrow profile in some systems and slow down processor memory access. For this reason he uses highSystem system memory of the system completely separate and wider cache bus. The cache is directly connected to the processor via this bus and completely bypasses FSB and Northbridge. Bus cache, also known as the back of the bus (BSB), acts as an address bus, data bus and control bus for cache memory exclusively.

Some PC compatible processors include memory controller in the main processor itself. This controller approaches the main memory the main systems directly without using FSB or Northbridge. After removing these narrow places, the processor spends less time waiting for the main system memory approaches. These processors are often included in the cache memory and external cache is available in each cache bus.
