What is HTTP 404?

Error

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 404, also commonly known as error 404 that is not found error is the answer code that indicates that the client was able to achieve the desired server but could not find the page or file he was looking for. To put it simply, the Internet browser could connect to the site in question, but the required page was not found. For a normal website, the status code is "200 sts", which is a standard answer for successful HTTP requirements. If the site is redirected, additional status codes can be displayed. The first digit "4" indicates that the client's error has occurred, so the server says that there was an error at the end of the client like a typo. It also means that the error may not be permanent. Medium “0” indicates a general syntax error. The last "4" indicates which specific error was made from the 400 error error group, which includes "400 bad requirements", "401 unauthorized" and "403 forbidden".

Errors

HTTP 404 are solved at the server level and not using the software running on the web. Some websites imitate the HTTP 404 error, in which case it is called a soft 404 error. These websites will use a redirection technique such as META redirects, or use the .htaccess file. The advantage for webmasters that do this is that they can view any message or page they want when the page is not found on the server, thereby improving the viewing experience.

The

HTTP 404 page can be entered in the server configuration, providing a real HTTP 404 error and at the same time redirecting the user to the site on the web. Using redirects as HTTP 404 errors can be harmful to the search engine for search engines (SERP). In some browsers, if the HTTP 404 site is below 514 kilobytes, the browser displays its own error page 404 and not for the configuracthe server.
