Geographical Remote Sensing Research Status

At present, most countries are conducting research on geographic prediction using remote sensing technology. Among them, the most frequent, universal and more accurate and practical applications are weather forecasting using meteorological satellite data, including terrestrial weather forecasting (for industrial and agricultural production, transportation, aerospace and people's daily activities) and marine weather forecasting (for Navigation, marine transportation, etc.).
In the United States, satellite data were used to analyze snow changes in the upper Mississippi region for three consecutive years, accurately forecasting water regimes in the basin, and reducing agricultural losses; the former Soviet Union used satellites to photograph snow changes in the Tianshan Mountains and the Pamirs in China, and forecasted extreme changes in 1969. During the spring flood season, satellite data was also used to carry out forecasting and forecasting work in agriculture, navigation, forestry, water conservancy, fishery, etc., and catastrophic weather forecasting was performed in a timely manner.
