What is GIS remote sensing?

Remote sensing is the process of using reflected and emitted electromagnetic radiation to collect information about a particular location or area from a distance. This data includes information on location and events that take place on the surface of the Earth in spatial and geographical coordinates. This data is then fed to the geographical information system (GIS), where it is correlated and analyzed using software and output to software users.

In some sense, GIS remote sensing works as a map of the studied area, but it is much more. GIS remote sensing provides data on important events as well as orienteering, such as forests, soil, water and vegetation. By all this information, you can correlate data and discover the connection between events and places that may not be visible to the naked eye. GIS remote sensing is performed in many ways with many different technologies. Aircraft and satellites circle afterAll over the world with cameras heading to the Earth's surface. When GIS remote sensing began, the only valuable information was in the visual range of light. New technologies have made other ranges available.

Two types of long -distance GIS survey are the result of energy sources. In passive remote survey, the only detected electromagnetic radiation is what is reflected from natural sources. In active remote survey, sensors are used to detect electromagnetic radiation reflected from objects irradiated by unnatural or artificial energy devices.

Not only is GIS remote sensing written according to energy source, but is also classified using wavelengths. The regions used are visible and reflective -red, thermal infrared and microwave. Each of these wavelengths can pick up different sources that cannot be detected by visual light or other wavelengths.

The main parts of the remote survey system will include energy source, passive system sensors for picking up lights from the Sun and Earth materials, and active system sensors for recording emitted light from artificial energy sources such as radar. Some platforms are needed. It should include a vehicle for the transport of sensors, signal data processor, signal data detector and the main organization for all phases.
