What is memory architecture?

Although the most common type of computer memory is a random access memory (RAM), there are many other types of memory that can be used on a computer. These include cache memory, flash memory and file storage. The memory architecture refers to a combination of different types of memory to balance the computer's performance without jeopardizing the reliability of storage or to ensure computer costs. In general, different types of memory work on the hierarchy from fast and expensive to slower and less cheap. The memory architecture is working to ensure that the computer has a mixture of all memory, which keeps the computer hardware as balanced and more cost -effective. The standard RAM on the computer is a dynamic form of memory, which means it keeps only information if the computer is powered. This is an apparent problem in terms of the maintenance of the computer after the cycle on the cycle, because without the persistent form of memory, all computer information would be lost in the event of power failure. Memory of File Storage in PThe tumors - the most common example is the hard disk - provides a relatively slow but stable method for storing computer information in the previous shutdown.

processor registers and cache memory are generally the fastest and most expensive. Finding these types of memory on the physical processor chip is the transmission and latency time for these types of memory extremely small. This means that information can travel to these types of memory and these types of memory in the blink of the eye, which makes it effective to maintain information and variables, while the processor actively works on a specific problem.

RAM is on the next level, both cheaper and slower than processors register and cache memory. This is connected to the processor via the front side bus, which means that the latency increases, while the speed decreases compared to the registry memory and the cache. Costs also significantly reduce, which makes RAM the most effective form of dynaMicko storage in memory architecture.

Finally, virtual memory and file storage are generally stored on a hard disk. Virtual memory is part of the hard disk that the computer operating system considers to be RAM. Hundreds and hundreds of gigabytes of hard disk storage can be purchased for the same amount as only four to eight RAM gigabytes, making it the best permanent place of mass storage on the computer architecture.
