What is PULL technology?
Some events that occur between online material and user can start in one of two ways. Others are launched only in one way. The initiation methods are referred to as push and towing technologies. PUSH technology includes automatically delivered data to the user's computer, either as planned or based on a start -up event. The Pull technology is the other way around: it includes a specific user's request to move data to a user's computer. There are four frequent use of PULL technology: requesting mail, loading websites, downloading from the Internet and syndicating a website with news. If a client offering PULL technology is used, the client will be offered to set up preferences that allow him to configure the e -mail client to regularly tighten the server and download the e -mail. Once this step is taken, downloads are automatically happening, so this pull technology may feel like pushing push technology. However, the user keeps checking and can change the intervalquestioning or even off the client if desired.
On the Internet, each URL record, or click on a link on a page that results in a loaded website is the result of a PULL technology at work, although many people think about it primarily as "navigation". It is clearer that something happens when a user downloads an item from the Internet. This is the case, when downloading a web page to a printer, buying ebook from Amazon®, a new monitor driver, Flickr® photo, English tutorial catalog from Oxford University Press Canada® or Webmail, which sets out on the line to reach out.
Web syndication allows users to collect updates from selected websites and read them offline Through newsletter on their desktop, such as NetNewswire® if they decide. When they do it - rather than read them through the proThe inflammation such as Bloglines®, which keeps them online - uses pull technology in a different way. The material of their selection will be delivered to them as soon as they are available, but only because they have applied for it, only when the program launched. Keep it and nothing happens.
