What Is the Internet Society?
The China Internet Association was established on May 25, 2001. It is a national, industrial and non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by the Chinese Internet industry and Internet-related enterprises, institutions and social organizations. Business guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

- On May 25, 2001, the China Internet Association was formally established.
- On March 26, 2002, the China Internet Association announced the "Chinese Internet Industry Self-Regulation Convention" and held a signing ceremony at the Great Hall of the People.
- On August 8, 2003, the China Internet Association News Information Service Working Committee was formally established.
- On June 10, 2004, the Internet News Information Service Working Committee of the China Internet Association was established. On September 15, the "Integrity and Self-discipline Alliance" of China's wireless Internet industry was established.
