What are striped strips?

Furring strips are thin, long pieces of metal or wood attached to the unfinished wall to support different finishing surfaces or fill the uneven parts of the wall that appears. The wood belt is usually 1 inch (2.5 cm) of 2 inches (5 cm) or 1 inch (2.5 cm) by 3 inches (7.5 cm) size and is attached horizontally or vertically to the existing wall. In the reconstruction of households, they are often used to rebuild the basement, where existing walls are made of exposed concrete, blocks or bricks. The speed strips provide non -compatible support and a solid surface that can be connected to finishing materials such as lining or support boards. As the strips should be connected and placed, it is determined by the material of the existing wall and the finishing material that will be connected to the strips. In some cases, the structures of the bands use in the roof, most often for buildings such as barns and shelters, although plywood is often used instead. Not all types of wall coverage requiredThe use of these strips. For example, plasterboard can be installed without them and other design methods are used to install plaster.

Furring belts vary depending on the type of finishing materials that a person uses. When installing heavy plates used as a supporting material for ceramic tiles, the stripes must be deployed widely apart. When the finishing material is thin lining, the strips can be placed closer to each other. During the rebuilding, break -up strips can be used to add new wall treatment materials and to add wall insulation. When adding insulation, it is often recommended to use 2 inches (5 cm) x 4 inches (10 cm) wood for bands, instead of narrower wood used differently.

It is USUALLY simplest to attach the strips vertically and should be attached to the entire height of the wall. Strips should be fastened with screws, nails notBO suitable glue, such as liquid nails or similar product. If the existing wall is made of concrete, bricks or blocks, suitable fasteners such as concrete screws or concrete anchors should be used. When using metal strips, look at the manufacturer's installation instructions. Always make sure that your project is monitored by building regulations in the area where you live.
