What are insulated concrete forms?

Insulated concrete forms are hollow molds made of polystyrene, which are assembled as building blocks for wall construction. Empty forms are blocked in customizable samples and are held together with connectors and reinforcement. Once unfolded and assembled, the forms are filled with concrete. The new technology of insulated concrete molds combines the advantages of concrete with excellent insulation, stability and environmental friendliness. Of course, concrete is extremely strong and durable because it cannot be absorbed by insects, demolished by floods, damaged by fire or deformed by moisture. The use of molds streamlines the process of creating concrete walls demanding work. The insulated concrete molds themselves are made of recycled material, such as plastic ties and foam cups, so they do not adversely affect the deforestation environment.

The largest dignity is thermal and sound insulation of walls made of insulated concrete molds unrivaled with R 30-40 values. The R value estimates the insulating forceany material against noise, heat and cold. These forms create quiet rooms that maintain their temperature and can save an incredible amount of energy accounts. This can replace a slightly more expensive cost of building with concrete versus timber.

The building using insulated concrete molds begins with a floor plan. Then the molds can be stacked from the ground up to simple walls. The forms are supplied in three varieties: blocks, boards and panels. All types allow doors, windows, plumbing and electricity and all require steel reinforcements such as braces and reinforcement. However, some use more specific, differ in thickness or work better.

in flat walls, using blocks, a large amount of concrete is inserted between two sides of the insulated material of different widths. The forms of the boards are slightly longer, allowing less design flexibility, but requires less concrete. In this type of concrete pHe grabs a waffle -like grid, so his thickness ranges from a few inches to half a foot on the wall. Finally, the panels are the largest unit of the size of the plasterboard sheet. They create post-a-spy walls, because the concrete fits into a series of cylindrical vertical beams and horizontal columns, while the rest of the wall is foam. Since the concrete does not fill the whole wall, the panel system is cheaper and lighter.
