What are brick blocks?

masonry blocks, also known as concrete brick units (CMU), are prefabricated blocks, either solid or hollow, which have been used in construction since 1882. They are economical, ecological and provide excellent structural power for residential, commercial and industrial buildings in rural and urban areas. They are also resistant to fire, long -lasting and require minimal maintenance. CMU in both levels are disagreed with the load, but differ in the type of concrete wall in which they are used. Grade N blocks are suitable for outer walls under the class and above the class. On the other hand, the S -degree blocks are used only for higher outer walls with a surface treatment resistant or in the walls not exposed to weather elements. The nominal standard size is 8 x 8 x 16 inches (20.32 by 20.32 x 40.64 cm). Different types of blocks are regular concrete, cinder or breeze, slot and aerated. They come in block forms such as a stretcher, split-creation, window sill, translation, coping, corner, screenKa, concrete brick and shadow. This mixture is treated in the case of low density and clinic blocks by replacing sand and gravel aggregates for fly ash, ash, coke, coal, etc. Light aerated blocks are a mixture of sand, cement, aluminum powder and water.

The

additives are usually added to concrete mixtures to make the blocks resistant, water and colored properties. Proportions in which the materials are mixed and the methods of production are helpful in creating blocks of various strengths and textures. Mixing and production is carried out by machines.

In the production process, wet Cdo machine molds are inserted onvok mixtures or a mixture with a very limited amount of water, compacted and vibration. Furthermore, they are cured at a high temperature and are left to set the solid. The masonry blocks are then ready for use in construction.

Constructions using masonry blocks is fast and compatible with conventional masonrythe needs of the needs. It requires standard 3/8 inches (0.95 cm) and hollow cores can be reinforced with steel or concrete wherever necessary. The wall structure of masonry provides excellent thermal and sound insulation and is usually painted or stucco for aesthetic attraction and weather protection.

It is best to advise and consult local building regulations before the construction. Different areas have different rules on the use of masonry blocks. For example, in some parts of the US, concrete blocks are not allowed for foundations, while the use of breeze blocks was interrupted in the UK.
