What Are Riveting Machines?
Riveting machine (also called rivet machine, rotary riveting machine, riveting machine, riveting machine, etc.) is a new type of riveting equipment developed based on the principle of cold rolling, which refers to mechanical equipment that can rivet articles with rivets. The equipment has a compact structure, stable performance and easy and safe operation. The riveting machine mainly relies on rotation and pressure to complete the assembly. It is mainly used in rivets (hollow rivets, hollow rivets, solid rivets, etc.) where riveting is required. Common pneumatic, hydraulic and electric, single and double head specifications. The common types are mainly automatic rivet machines (mainly for the riveting of semi-hollow rivet machines, which can be automatically cut, and the riveting efficiency is high!) And rotary rivet machines (rotary rivet machines are divided into pneumatic rotary rivet machines and hydraulic rotary rivet machines, It is mainly used for riveting of solid rivets or larger hollow rivets).
- Riveting machine is a collective name for riveting equipment such as rivet machine, rotary riveting machine, corn eye machine. Usually people refer to the rotary riveting machine alone. The rotary riveting machine can be divided into:
- Rotary riveting machine cold-rolling riveting method: a riveting method that uses a rivet rod to locally press the rivet and swing it continuously around the center until the rivet is formed. According to the cold milling trajectory of this riveting method, it can be divided into a pendulum riveting method and a radial riveting method [1]
- Main features:
- The riveting machine is more and more convenient, efficient and easy to operate. It is increasingly accepted by manufacturers.
- The riveting machine can be divided into many types according to the structure type, there are slide rail type and rotary table type, but the principle is the same, all are set to move the workpiece to the riveting area, and then the riveting machine completes the riveting process.
- The displacement of any workpiece can be regarded as the result of movement in three directions. The X and Y axes control left and right and front and back, and the Z axis controls up and down. Thus, a basic CNC structure is determined. CNC riveting machines generally have a zero point, which can also be referred to as the reference point. Based on this point, we need to number and coordinate all the points that need to be riveted. This process is necessary, and then these coordinates and heights need to be input to The device's data entry page lets the machine know how to rivet those points, where they are, and how high they are.
- After inputting the coordinates of these points, the program of the CNC riveting machine can be operated. Under the control of the program, the machine's servo mechanism will drive the workpiece to the first point we entered. At this position, the riveting workpiece should be exactly at the riveting head. Below the axis, at this time, the device also needs to calculate the Z value of the coordinate, that is, the height value, to determine the feed rate of the riveting. After everything is ready, the device can start riveting.
- The riveting machine has a wide range of applications, and can be used in a variety of riveting processes. Here are some of the main applications.
- 1. Materials that can be riveted: In addition to riveting low carbon steel rivets, medium carbon steel and stainless steel rivets can also be riveted. Of course, copper and aluminum rivets are also in the riveting range.
- 2. Rivetable shape: As long as the shape of the riveting head is changed, it can be riveted into various shapes. In addition, the radial riveting machine can also be used for embossing, embossing and marking.
- 3. The radial riveting machine can also achieve riveting on glass, plastic and ceramic.
- 4. Applicable industries: The cold-rolled riveting method can be widely used in precision machinery, textile equipment, steel furniture, construction hardware, high and low voltage electrical appliances, hardware tools, automobiles, motorcycle accessories and many other industries, especially in automotive door locks, scraping Water heaters, brakes, clutches, rear door stays, door hinges, glass lifters, carburetor, hand brakes, steering ball joints, motorcycle shock absorbers and other auto and motorcycle accessories industries are more widely used.
- Operating procedures
- 1. When using a rivet machine, the operator should stand with his legs spread apart.
- 2. Test wind
- 1. Do not process workpieces beyond the nominal capacity.
- 2. Don't work under high voltage for a long time.
- 3. The protruding length of the rivet head should not exceed the specified value.
- 4. Stop and repair immediately when encountering an abnormality, leading to troubleshooting.
- 5. The guide rail of the equipment should be coated with butter once a month to make it lubricate and rust-proof.
- 6. The assembly and disassembly of the rivet head should be light and slow, especially when removing the rivet head, do not pull it out with brute force. Rotate the rivet head and pull it down slowly and forcefully. If the rivet head of the inserted rivet head is pulled out of the normal position, the position of the rivet head will be significantly deviated after the rivet head is installed. At this time, the red safety cover should be removed and the rivet head can be used after being installed in place, otherwise the machine will be easily damaged. .
- 7. During use, the rivet head will slightly adhere when processing certain materials. In order to ensure the quality of the riveting, the rivet head should be cleaned regularly to prevent the metal from thickening. When cleaning, the rivet head is fixed on the chuck of the lathe, and then polished with sandpaper.
- 8. Routine maintenance of the equipment should be carried out every two weeks. The main maintenance items are as follows. If problems are found, they should be dealt with in a timely manner.
- A. Check whether the lubricating oil in the pneumatic triple oil cup is sufficient, otherwise the oil cup should be filled.
- B. Check whether the steam pipes and joints are firmly connected and there is no air leakage.
- C. Check whether there is any adhesion in the cavity of the rivet head and clean it if there is any.
- D. Fill the spherical surface with grease.
- 9. Every 6 months, the equipment should be shut down and repaired in batches. The following items should be checked. If problems are found, they should be repaired in time.
- A. Check if there is air leakage in the upper and lower parts of the cylinder, otherwise the seal ring should be replaced.
- B. Check whether the steam pipes and joints are firmly connected and there is no air leakage.
- C. Check whether the extended length of the riveting head exceeds the standard, otherwise it should be replaced.
- D. Check whether the swing of the riveting head is normal. Otherwise, stop the machine for maintenance. If there is a problem with the spherical surface, replace or repair the spherical surface in time.
- E. Check whether the noise and riveting quality are abnormal when the spindle rotates. If it is, check it. If the problem is worn or damaged, replace the bearing immediately.
- F. Fill the spherical surface with grease.
- G, rails and other parts should be coated with butter to make them lubricate and rust-proof.
- 10. Maintenance should be arranged for someone to take charge regularly. If you cannot solve the problem, you should contact the manufacturer in time.
