What are Suction Cups?

Animals' adsorption organs are generally round and disc-shaped in the middle. The suction cup has functions of adsorption, feeding and exercise. The locust has a sucker around the mouth and at the back. According to the characteristics of animals, a vacuum suction cup, also known as a vacuum spreader, is one of the vacuum equipment actuators. The sucker material is made of nitrile rubber, which has a large breaking force, so it is widely used in various vacuum holding equipment.

There can be many types of suction cups:
A type of pendant that is adsorbed on an object by using the difference in internal and external atmospheric pressure, or a tool for grasping the object.
The other is a magnetic chuck, which is specifically used for the adsorption and fixation of ferromagnetic substances. Most applications are in the fields of machining and so on.
Machine tool attachments that hold workpieces by suction. The most commonly used suction cups are magnetic suction cups, which are generally rectangular or disc-shaped. It uses magnetic force to hold ferromagnetic workpieces tightly. It is used for surface grinding machines, but also for milling machines and lathes, CNC machine tools, machining centers, etc. There are two types of chucks: electromagnetic chucks and permanent magnet chucks. Electromagnetic chuck: There are multiple sets of coils in the body (Figure 1). The direct current is used to generate a magnetic field to suck the workpiece; when the power is turned off, the magnetic field disappears and the workpiece is released. Permanent magnet chuck: Permanent magnets arranged neatly and separated by non-magnetic material are installed in the body (Fig. 2). When the magnets are aligned with the permeable magnets on the chuck panel, the magnetic lines of force pass through the workpiece to form a closed circuit to hold the workpiece tightly; Rotate the handle so that the magnet and the magnet are staggered, and the magnetic lines of force no longer pass through the workpiece, and the workpiece can be removed.
In the past, the suction force of the permanent magnet chuck was smaller than that of the electromagnetic chuck. But now that the performance of the magnetic material is improved and the design and production process are improved, the suction force of the permanent chuck can be made larger than the electromagnetic chuck. Does not affect machining accuracy. However, there are also slight deformations due to magnetostriction. There are also vacuum chucks that use vacuum suction and electrostatic chucks that use positive and negative electrostatic charges between the workpiece and the table. These suction cups have a small suction force and are only suitable for clamping thin-walled or non-magnetic workpieces.

Vacuum sucker
A vacuum chuck is a technology that maintains the attachment and separation of two objects through the degree of vacuum. There are industrial applications and non-governmental applications. In the industry, by changing the vacuum degree of the suction cups, the "take" and "release" in the process of transportation and migration are realized to cooperate with the realization of automatic mechanization.
Use of civil suction cup
The civil aspect mainly meets the needs of people to hang living objects at any time. Because it has the characteristics of being able to be "taken" and "placed", it is used for hanging towels and the like. Some also suspend the suction cup from bags and other objects, so when you can't find a place to put the bag, you can hang the bag on the wall.
Permanent chuck
Permanent magnet chucks, also known as magnetic chucks or permanent magnet jacks, are necessary transportation tools for machinery factories, mold factories, forging plants, steel mills, shipyards and other places where steel is used. Handling efficiency of plate, irregular magnetic steel material. The permanent magnet chuck is based on the high-performance rare-earth material NdFeB (N> 40) as the core. The handle of the chuck is turned by hand to change the magnetic system of the NdFeB inside the chuck to achieve the holding of the workpiece to be transported or freed.
