What Are the Different Tungsten Products?
Tungsten products refer to all kinds of products produced with tungsten ore as the basic raw material. Tungsten products can be divided into tungsten ore, tungstates, tungsten powder, pure tungsten products, tungsten alloys, hard alloys, and other derivatives of tungsten.
Tungsten products
- Tungsten products belong to
- Tungsten products have high melting point, high density, high hardness, and are widely used. Since the end of the 19th century, tungsten has been used for the first time to produce alloy steel and hardened steel. Its products range from primary products to deep-processed products, which have reached more than 20 types, including drills, cutting tools, alloys, chemical supplies, medicine, and food. Electronics, armor-piercing shells, etc. Tungsten has become one of the irreplaceable materials in modern industrial society.
- The tungsten industry is divided into several vertically related stages based on tungsten products: exploration, mining and smelting, processing to sales (export / domestic production plants). These several vertical correlation stages can be completed by different independent companies, but from the perspective of the development of the tungsten industry, the development trend is that the vertical stages are united and operate along the chain from production to sales. China's tungsten industry has a century of development history, which is roughly divided into three stages: the first 30 years after the founding of New China, a relatively complete tungsten industry system was formed; from 1981 to 2000, the tungsten metallurgy, processing, and cemented carbide industry developed rapidly and products The structure has changed a lot, which has changed the situation of the export of a single tungsten concentrate. After the 21st century, the development of the tungsten industry has entered a new period. The rapid development of the tungsten industry has revealed more and more problems: 1) over-exploitation of tungsten mineral resources; 2) the price fluctuations of tungsten products at home and abroad are relatively large; 3) in the tungsten industry chain, the development of upstream, middle and downstream industries is not Equilibrium; 4) The entire industry is widely distributed, small in scale, and low in concentration; 5) The products are single, not many high, sharp, deep, and fine products, and the enterprise has low independent innovation ability and low awareness of innovation. The existence of these problems has seriously affected the healthy and orderly development of China's tungsten industry, threatened the development of China's manufacturing industry and production safety, and greatly reduced the overall international competitiveness of China's tungsten industry.
- The development of the national economy has driven the rapid development of leading industries. The development of industries such as building materials, automobiles, steel, machinery processing, diamonds, electronics, and engineering machinery, as well as the application and development of new fields, have greatly increased the demand for tungsten. In 2006, the annual output of thick tungsten wire and tungsten rod was 2102t, the amount of tungsten used for tungsten alloy electrodes was about 650t; the amount of tungsten for high-density tungsten alloy was about 850t; and the amount of tungsten for chemical and other products was about 870t. Consumption structure of tungsten is: cemented carbide 48%, tungsten special steel 28%, tungsten material 19%, and chemical industry 5%. In 2006, the total tungsten consumption in various fields was 18 623 t, an increase of 2.38% compared with 2005 (18190 t). In recent decades, the overall technical level of China's tungsten industry has gradually improved. Since the 1980s, major changes have taken place in the export structure of tungsten products, which has completely reversed the situation of pure tungsten sand exports. By 2000, tungsten fines were basically not exported. Exports of minerals, primary products and tungsten intermediate products are also decreasing year by year, while exports of tungsten products with higher processing levels and cemented carbides representing the advanced level of the tungsten industry are increasing year by year. The entry of deep processed tungsten products into the international market is an effective way to turn resource advantages into industrial advantages, which indicates that China's tungsten industry structure is developing in a rational direction.
