What Are Traveling Cranes?
Driving is a common name for cranes, cranes, cranes and other cranes. Driving is basically the same as what we now call cranes. There are basically two types of driving methods: one is centralized driving, that is, a motor drives a long drive shaft to drive the driving wheels on both sides; the other is driving separately, that is, the driving wheels on both sides are driven by one motor. Medium and small bridge cranes mostly use a "three-in-one" drive method in which brakes, reducers and motors are combined into one. For ordinary bridge cranes with large lifting weights, for easy installation and adjustment, the drive device often uses universal coupling .
- Lifting machinery can be roughly divided into the following four categories according to their functions and structural characteristics:
- Light and small lifting equipment
- Light and small lifting equipment is characterized by lightness, compact structure, simple action, and the projection of the operating range is mainly based on points and lines. Light and small lifting equipment generally has only one lifting mechanism, which can only make a single lifting movement for heavy objects. Those that fall into this category are: jacks, tackles, hand (pneumatic, electric) hoists, winches, etc. Electric hoists are often equipped with running trolleys and metal frames to expand the working range.
- Bridge crane
- Flexible member and winding device
- Wire rope is one of the important parts of the traveling vehicle. It is used for lifting mechanism, luffing mechanism, traction mechanism, and sometimes also for rotating mechanism. Wire ropes are also used for driving tying articles. In addition, the steel wire rope is also used as the mast tensioning rope of the mast crane, the supporting rope of the cable crane and the aerial ropeway.
- In the driving lifting mechanism. The pulley plays the role of saving effort, supporting and guiding the wire rope. The material of the pulley is gray cast iron, cast steel, etc.
- The drum is used to wind the wire rope in the lifting mechanism or the traction mechanism. Convert the rotary motion into the required linear motion. Reels are divided into single-layer winding and multi-layer winding. Most cranes use single-layer winding drums. The surface of the single-layer winding drum is usually cut with spiral grooves to increase the contact area of the rope and prevent adjacent ropes from rubbing against each other, thereby increasing the service life of the rope.
- Pickup device safety inspection
- The crane connects the lifting articles with the lifting mechanism through the picking device, so as to carry out the operations of loading, unloading, lifting, and installation of these articles. There are many types of picking devices. Such as: hooks, rings, cable ties, clamps, claws, bearing beams, electromagnetic chucks, vacuum chucks, grabs, container spreaders, etc.
- The most commonly used picking device on bridge and gantry cranes is the hook. The breakage of the hook may lead to serious personal and equipment accidents. Therefore, the material of the hook is required to have no danger of sudden breakage. The hooks for small and medium-lift trucks are forged; the hooks for large-lift trucks are riveted with steel plates, which are called sheet hooks.
- Hooks are divided into single and double hooks. The single hook is more convenient to manufacture and use, and is used for small lifting weights; when the lifting weight is large, in order not to make the hook excessively heavy, double hooks are often used.
- The cross-sectional shapes of the hook body (curved part) are: round, rectangular, trapezoidal, and T-shaped.
- The inspection of various hooks focuses on the inspection of the forging hook, the inspection of the plate hook and the hook load test. In order to prevent decoupling and accidents, the hook should be equipped with safety devices to prevent decoupling.
- Braking device
- The driving mechanism is an intermittent action mechanism, and its working characteristics are frequent starting and braking, so the brake is both a working device and a safety device in the driving. The brake has three functions: support, stop, and drop weight.
- Brake according to its structure is divided into: block brake; belt brake; disc, multi-disc brake; cone brake.
- According to different operating conditions, the brakes are divided into: normally closed, normally open, and comprehensive brakes. The closed brake is closed when the mechanism is not working, and the brake is released by the brake release device when the mechanism is working. Normally, normally-closed brakes are used in driving, especially the lifting mechanism must adopt normally-closed brakes to ensure safety. Normally open brakes are often in the released state, and braking torque is generated only when braking is required. Integrated brake is a combination of normally closed and normally open. [2]
