What is a construction trailer?
The construction trailer is a portable structure that serves as a temporary office on the construction site. Building trailers are often similar to a large container of a shed or transport, and many of them are actually built using a storage container as a base. These structures can move in size and are generally identified by their length, which can be administered in the feet or meters depending on the area. Each construction site may include one or more construction trailers depending on the needs of staff and storage.
The construction trailer generally serves as a heart of work and a large part of the activity takes place inside. It usually includes an office for a project manager and a superintendent as well as a meeting room. Meetings with architects and subcontractors of progress are held in the meeting room, and the trailer may include additional rooms for files or materials. In larger jobs, each subcontractor may have his own construction trailer, especially those in mechanical or electrical tradees.
Traditionally, the construction trailer had no bathrooms, cabling or heat. Today, these trailers often include bathrooms similar to those found in RV. They are also involved in electricity and may include portable heating and cooling units. If the Windows trailer has, security is often disabled. Each trailer can also be involved in local tool lines to provide a telephone or internet service team.
In addition to serving as a temporary field office, the construction trailer can also be used to store materials or equipment that will be used on the site of the work. Large projects often require separate trailers for things such as tubes, plasterboard and doors. The trailer keeps these materials protected from rain and theft as well as other external factors. Many storage trailers include air conditioning or heating to store the materials at the desired temperature.
Many areas require suppliers to obtain permission before putting the building trailer to the location. The supplier can move the trailer using a trailer or railway and some use the crane to set the trailer to the desired location on site. Depending on its size, the trailer may require footer or other supports. Some suppliers also add temporary wooden stairs or decks around the trailer as needed for access. Some types of building trailers can be stacked on each other on the site limitation to provide sufficient office and storage space.
