What is a continuous hinge?
Continuous hinge is a long hinge with a wide range of movement, which is usually used in the production of cabinet and furniture. Also known as a piano hinge, a continuous hinge is generally used as the only unit that bridges the entire length of the suspended area of the door or lid. The drops are supplied in long lengths, which can be cut to size and are usually drilled by equally straddled holes along each wing. In most cases, a continuous hinge is designed from a metal with a light meter with a relatively light joint of the joint-pin in relation to the charts, and available examples if necessary. Dings are also available when selecting plastic materials suitable for epoxy fastening rather than screws or rivets. In order to achieve a robust but unobtrusive joint in this application, the hinge was designed to be light with a small central pin and joints that allowed the piano to close with a very small gap to the hinge or open up all the way back without spoiling the appearance of the cabinet. ThatIt was ensured that the curtain provided sufficient strength for often heavy lids, it was designed to bridge the entire length of the lid, secured at regular intervals with wooden screws. The hinge was eventually accepted by cabinet manufacturers and furniture for a wide range of low -profile applications.
generally available in extended lengths, even occasionally presented on the role, a continuous curtain is made of light, depressed steel with wide wings in relation to a relatively small section of the pin and joint. In most cases, the curtain pin is slightly more than a heavy guide core running along its entire length. If the hinge is needed, the desired length is measured and cut off using a hacker drawing. The hinge is generally pre -drilled by a series of equally straddled holes. The holes are generally close to each other, so the number of screws or rivets used can be adjusted to suit the application.
Small joint part kThe ontinal hinge allows an excellent range of movement and fine joint gaps. They are also available in a cumbersome robe if needed. The selection of light plastic or acrylic continuous hinges is also available in a wide range of colors. These hinges are often not pre -drilled for screw or rivet fastening, but rather designed for use with acrylic adhesives.
