What is a flange joint?

The flange joint is a non -certificate, removable method of joining or paying steel and plastic pipes. The handbooks consist of a pair of identical discs with a series of mounting holes near their external perimeter. When two pipes are to join, two discs are placed against each other so that the holes stand. The screws then pass the holes and tension, thus firmly attracting the flanges against each other. The flanges are available in a number of designs, including a flange for slip, increased flanges on the face and flanges of joints, all of which meet different pipe requirements. The flange joints are suitable for many patterns of pipes, materials and sizes and are common on systems as diverse as large urban water networks and small high -pressure steam lines. The joints of the flanges are quickly assembled and disassembled and can be included in the lengths of the tray or installed in-situ on the existing pipeline circuits. The handbook allows a quick and efficient connection of the pipe sections and joining the parts of the pipe to the afterPowerful equipment such as pumps, valves and measuring equipment. A wide range of types also means that a flange joint is suitable for most transported media.

Typical flange joint consists of two identical disks or boards that have similarly placed sets of mounting holes arranged around the periphery. Some flanges are permanently welded or epoxy on a tube or even cast as part of a pipe or device. Other flange patterns have a disk-on disk that stretches against the collar or arm permanently connected to the pipe. After the joint, both boards or discs are placed against each other and the screws pass through the holes. When the screws are tight, both boards are raised against each other, thus forming a safe joint.

Depending on the application and a specific flange design, a package or seal between discs may be placed before tensioning. The tensioning force then compresses the seals and createRate good hermetic seal. Flanges often have the corresponding slots and protrusions in their faces or sets of concentric backrests that help in sitting seals. These seals are usually used on pipe systems carrying high -pressure fluids or gases.

There is a wide range of flange joint designs on the market that provide an equally diverse selection of types and pipe applications. These include sub -descent flanges that screw up on the pipeline and slide on the flanges or on the lap with free rotating discs. These loose joint flanges are the easiest to install on existing pipe systems, as the discs can be rotated to align the holes if the pipes cannot. Other types of flange include blind flanges used to empty unused ends of and isolated flanges that prevent cathodic corrosion from electrically insulating pipes. The flanges are made according to the set of standard dimensions that ensure compatibility of cross applications and ease of use.
