Forklift start motor

Right!
The forklift starter motor can convert the electrical energy of the battery into mechanical energy. It is also called forklift starter, starter, starter motor, etc. It is mainly installed on the side of the engine flywheel and drives the engine flywheel to rotate the forklift engine.
The starting of the forklift engine requires the support of external forces, and the forklift starter motor plays this role. Generally speaking, the starter motor uses three components to implement the entire starting process. The DC motor introduces current from the battery and causes the drive gear of the starter to move mechanically; the transmission mechanism engages the drive gear with the flywheel ring gear and can automatically shrink and disengage after the engine starts; the on-off of the starter motor circuit is controlled by an electromagnetic switch To control. Among them, the electric motor is the main component inside the starter motor, and its working principle is the conversion process of the magnetic field cutting of the coil based on the energy based on Ampere's law, that is, the rotor is rotated by the magnetic cutting in the magnetic field after the power is turned on. The forklift engine must be rotated by external force before it can run on its own power. The process of the engine's transition from standstill to self-running by external force is called engine starting. There are two common starting methods for the engine: manual start and electric starter. The human starter adopts the rope pulling or hand-cranking method. It is simple, but it is not convenient to use on the forklift engine, and the labor intensity is large. It is mainly only suitable for some low-power engines, and it is not suitable for use in forklifts. The electric starting method is easy to operate, quick to start, has repeated starting capability, and can be controlled from a long distance. Therefore, it is widely used in modern forklift, automobile, excavator, train, ship, aircraft, high-power generator and other engines.
The forklift starter is mainly composed of the following parts: 1. The starter shell, the shell is made of iron or aluminum alloy, generally cylindrical, forming a magnetic line of force, and the inner side is replaced by a permanent magnet. And iron core to reduce volume 2, contactor (magnetic switch) 3, fork 4, platinum contact 5, connection terminal 6, terminal 7, screw 8, nut 9, stator 10, rotor 11, carbon There are usually four brush holders and carbon brushes, two of which are supported by insulating clips; two are grounded, and are also supported by clips and contact the commutator. Current flows from the carbon brush to the armature coil through the commutator. The carbon brush is pressed on the commutator by a spring and can slide up and down in the clip. The brush is required to pass a large current per unit area, so it will be made of metal graphite with low resistance and large current capacity. 13. For bearings, due to the large starting load and short working time, ball bearings made of oil-containing alloys are used. The bearing is composed of an oil groove 14, a spring 15, a reduction gear 16, a reduction disk 17, a contact gear (one-way gear) 18, an O-ring 19, a steel ball 20, a circlip and the like, which ensure good lubrication. The working structure of the forklift starter at startup: 1. the positive electrode of the starter battery, 2. the battery connector, 3. (thick) cable, 4. the platinum contact end of the starter solenoid valve, 5. (small) power cord, 6. Fuse, 7. Ammeter, 8. Ignition key switch, 9. Start relay, 10. Start motor solenoid valve coil, 11. Platinum contact connection, 12. Start motor cable, 13. Start motor carbon brush, 14. Rotor, 15. ground, 16. battery negative.
1. The battery has no electricity or weak electricity, so the trouble that the starter cannot rotate or rotate slowly appears.
2. The head of the starter motor is loose or falling off, and the switch or suction switch is invalid.
3.The starter motor of the forklift is weak (the engine cannot start)
4. The starter is idling (the starter motor turns but does not drive the engine to run)
5. After the engine is started, the starter gear cannot be returned to its original position.
6. The starter burns out too long after starting.
The forklift starts the motor or the faults and phenomena described above occur. In this case, it should be checked from the following aspects and resolved if the technology allows:
A. Forklift starter does not turn: first check whether the starter electromagnetic switch has voltage (this voltage can only be measured when the forklift key switch is activated), and is there no voltage from the main power supply (battery positive power supply) to the starter electromagnetic switch? Are there enough starting voltages in the platinum and battery pack, and whether the electromagnetic switch has a pull-in operation after the voltage from the start key (if the electromagnetic switch is not working, the electromagnetic switch should be burned out).
B. Although the electromagnetic switch is attracting, but the platinum contacts have burned out, which can't be normally energized and the starter can't run, the carbon brush is worn or the rotor copper head is burned out, the rotor or stator is burned out, and the electromagnetic switch coil is burned Defective or open circuit, etc. will cause the starter motor not to run.
C. Weak start (the engine cannot start): Check whether the bearings of the starter are burnt loose or lack of oil, there are gaps in the copper head of the starter, signs of wear of the starter gear, wear and looseness of one-way gear, severe carbon brush wear, electromagnetic Insufficient force and wear of the fork, poor contact of the electromagnetic switch or insufficient electric power, some burnout and short circuit of the stator and rotor, insufficient electric power of the power supply cable, insufficient total battery voltage. ).
D. Forklift starter idling: The electromagnetic switch is burnt or short-circuited, the fork is not pulled in place or the forklift is broken or damaged, the forklift cover is damaged or loose, the flywheel ring gear or motor gear is worn or a single tooth is worn and damaged.
E. The forklift starter does not return or cannot return after the engine is started: the forklift relay is burnt out or short-circuited, the forklift key is opened for too long, the forklift key is damaged, the return spring is weak or worn and broken, The surface of the gear and the flywheel of the engine is too rough and the meshing is too tight, resulting in the inability to return.
F. After the starter of the forklift is burned out, it is better to replace it with a new starter after inspection if there is no maintenance value.
The starter motor is one of the important parts in a forklift. It makes the forklift engine, which is the heart of the forklift, work normally. Generally not easily damaged, but in order to extend the life of the starter, proper use is also necessary. During the start of the engine, the starter motor needs to introduce 300 ~ 400 Ah from the battery. Therefore, in order to prevent the battery from overcurrent or damage, the start time should not exceed 5 seconds. In winter, it is easy to start. The starting time of each start should not be too long, and appropriate intervals should also be left in each start. Under normal circumstances, a well-maintained starter motor can accompany the engine for several years, and can even be used with the engine until it is scrapped.
