What Is a Gas Generator?
The gas generator here mainly refers to a gas generator used in a car safety system.
The gas generator
- So far, two-stage gas generators generally have the following types.
- Two-stage gas pyrotechnic
- Two-stage gas pyrotechnic (Pyrotechnic) gas generators, they are provided with two independent integral gas generators connected end to end.
- Two-stage storage gas type
- The two-stage storage gas type gas generator is composed of a single gas storage tank, and has the ability to obtain different gas release amounts by changing the opening amount of two pilot burners. Commonly called
- "Boosting" gas generator
- Some gas storage generators are equipped with small gas pyrotechnic devices combined with one or more igniters. This device heats the gas sent to the gas generator and relies on this heating method to increase the pressure of the gas in the airbag. In a two-stage storage gas generator, the amount of single-stage gas generation is mainly determined by the specifications of the car itself and the performance evaluation standards of the vehicle manufacturer. In the two-stage gas generator, the ratio of the first stage gas generation to the second stage gas generation is 70:30, 60:40, and 50:50. Each type of vehicle needs to be analyzed and tested to determine what combination method is most suitable. It is suitable for the design needs of vehicle manufacturers. The airbag's gas generator (Inflator) consists of a generator body, a primer, a gunpowder, an ignition device, and a harness connector. Some generators also have compressed air. When it works, the ECU sends a signal and enters the blasting device through the wire harness. It generates sparks and detonates. The gunpowder instantly generates a large amount of gas (or puts a huge pressure on the compressed gas). Bag (bag), the huge pressure caused the bag to burst through the airbag cover (the cover has a specially designed tear line, here is very thin, easy to break), inflatable molding.
- Pre-tensioned seat belt retractor
- The gas generator (Gas Generator) consists of generator body, gunpowder, and point-connector assembly. When in effect, the ECU sends a signal and enters the blasting component through the wire harness to directly detonate the gunpowder. The high-pressure gas generated is directly punched out from the opening at the other end of the generator body, and the transmission member in the pretensioning device is pushed to pull the reel back.
